Helipad Project - RSH and RTH

It was realized by Alterego consultancy that the helipads on both sites were inadequate for suitable and safe landings of emergency response helicopter services. In addition to this it was established night flights could not be implemented due to lack of essential support from the hospital infrastructure.

A plan was promptly put in place to renew both helipads, bringing them up to a standard by:

• Altering and replacing signage
• Altering and replacing street lighting
• Installing triangulated approach lighting
• Installing signaling equipment
• Introducing barriers
• Introducing radio triangulation system
• Construction new robust tarmac surface and "H" painted identification
• Renew "Standard Operating Procedures"
