Skylark Children's Ward - IRH

This project was in the planning for over a year and held on the shelf due to restrictive funds and the existence of asbestos within the fabric of this children's ward. To facilitate the partial refurbishment of the ward we firstly has to decant all of the staff to an area within Ravenscraig Hospital which required minor refurbishment to accommodate their use.

Funding dictated that only partial refurbishment should take place, but the ward when finished offered promise, satisfaction and delight to all staff and users alike.

Problems existed within:

  • Asbestos removal.
  • Existing drainage.
  • Ventilation.
  • Flooring.
  • Doors installation.

The total value of this project was £750,000.00
